Dog name: Buddy Nicknames:
History: Buddy’s owner sadly passed and his family unfortunately were not in the position to keep him.
Uk arrival date: He arrived into foster on 18/02/2026
Breed: Saluki Greyhound cross
Colour: Brindle and white, feathered
DOB: 10 years 4 months
Height: TBC
Weight: 26.6kg
Neutered: Not yet
Mediterranean disease: Not applicable
Health condition: Good. He is diagnosed with Epilepsy and is on daily Epityl. Also diagnosed with Cardiomegaly (enlarged heart) for which he is on daily Pimobendan.
Character: He is a sweet little angel. He’s cheeky because you’ll give him pets and if you stop he will prod you for more (it never ends!!! You could sit by his side stroking his head forever, he would never have enough!). He’s playful, he will let you know when he wants to play, or you’ll hear him gallop from the other room to come convoke you, usually by just burying his big nose under your arm, and loves getting the toys out to bounce around the house a bit He is independent, chill, enjoys snoozing by our feet but sometimes gets up and moves around the house, chooses a different spot, doesn’t see the need to interrupt a good nap to follow us when he knows we’re not going anywhere He loves a walk, specially in the sun, he loves the sun, he loves just smelling and noticing everything in his surrounding, very curious
Likes: He wags his tail a lot more when he sees us and definitely notices when we’re not home (he either watches us from the window or waits for us in the hall) He absolutely loves friends and a little (quiet) social gathering. Duck plushie still a solid favourite.
Dislikes: He’s still jumpy with loud noises, and people approaching him with sudden boisterous movements. He doesn’t seem to mind loud noises if it’s not nearby, for example he doesn’t mind road work or traffic outside the house when he’s at home. He doesn’t care about music or people talking. He can growl or snap at other unneutered dogs if they get too close or at dogs that are too bouncy.
Special talents: Being a wonderful companion. He does behave beautifully in the pub and cafes, you can take him anywhere and he’ll be happy with a chew and some attention.
Specific needs: A home where he will have company during the day (people who work from home or retired people for example) and that will be able to keep his medicine routine. He likes to spend time with people and likes when people are able to engage with his playfulness. A house with an appropriately fenced garden would be perfect for him, we can see that he loves playing fetch (we play with the duck toy in our living room) and being able to do it on a garden where he can stretch and run a bit further would be great for him. Not to be with unneutered males, preferably as a solo dog
Cat workable: Not tested
How long they can be left for: 1 hour, we haven’t had to leave him for longer than that yet but we were told he would be fine for 3-4 hours from his previous owner’s family. He was fine, he was just sleeping at the hallway when we arrived, the sofa cushions had moved so we believe he wasn’t in the hallway the entire time either
Current area: Glasgow
Please use the form below to get in touch and ask about this adoption.
Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.
Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.
Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.
Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
