Health condition: He seems really healthy and does not appear unwell in himself. He arrived with several bald patches and small scratch/scab marks around his neck, spine and shoulders. These were improving during his first week, with less scratching and the scabs resolved.
Character: A sweet, cheeky, lively and inquisitive young puppy. He is playful, affectionate and keen for fusses, enjoys exploring and is also able to settle and sleep well. He can bark when unsure of something and is still learning about normal household noises and the wider world.
Likes: Food, playing with people and toys, chewing, treasure hunts, informal fetch and tug, snuggling with the resident dogs, and plenty of sleep. Favourite chews include Yak chews and knuckle bones.
Dislikes: No specific dislikes are recorded. He can be unsure of unfamiliar things and may bark while he works them out.
Special talents: Food motivated, learns quickly, responds to the nickname Gip, travels very well in the car and settles to sleep quickly. He is also making good progress with housetraining and walks quite nicely on lead for a young puppy.
Specific needs: A patient, kind and consistent home that understands he is still a young puppy. He needs ongoing housetraining, puppy manners, confidence-building, sensible boundaries and gentle socialisation. Someone should be around for much of the day initially while alone time is introduced gradually. He has shown some food-related guarding around other dogs, so sensible management around food and high-value chews is needed.
Cat workable: Yes, potentially. Living with cats in foster and shows typical puppy curiosity, including some playful chasing, rather than strong prey behaviour. He gives them space when corrected and ignores them when settled. Introductions and interactions with a resident cat should be carefully managed while he learns appropriate boundaries.
How long they can be left for: He has not yet been left. Alone time will need to be built up gradually and positively.
Current area: Gloucestershire, UK

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.
Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.
Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.
Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
