Colour: Brindle and white
DOB: 4 years old
Height: TBC
Weight: TBC
Neutered: Yes
Mediterranean disease: Clear, except light positive for Ehrlichiosis
Health condition: Good
Character: Loyal, loving and playful. Galvan is an intelligent, affectionate and cheeky boy who observes new things calmly. He loves people and took to visitors really well. He is becoming more trusting and relaxed each day, although he can still sometimes shut down when unsure. He enjoys being involved in what is going on.
Likes: People, play, stuffed bones, tug-of-war games and his favourite squeaky rabbit toy. He enjoys walks in paddocks, woods, secure dog fields and at the beach, and happily jumps in and out of the car on command.
Dislikes: Being left without his person, even when another dog is present. He is currently reactive to unfamiliar dogs and squirrels.
Special talents: Exceptional on the lead and a quick learner. He responds to Galvan, Gally Galgo and ‘ven aqui’.
Specific needs: Galvan needs continued positive support with being left alone and with his reactivity towards unfamiliar dogs. At present, a home with access to quieter walking areas where he will not encounter too many dogs would suit him best. He would likely benefit from living with another compatible dog. He is fully housetrained and has no destructive behaviour when left, but during a one-hour trial he did not settle and barked and cried.
Cat workable: No – considered very unlikely to be cat friendly.
How long they can be left for: Currently up to 1 hour has been tested. He does not settle and will bark and cry, although he has shown no destructive behaviour. This will need ongoing support
Current area: Kent, UK

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.
Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.
Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.
Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
