Genil is a 3 year old Galgo, very sweet and friendly.
He was found by the river Genil hence his name. He was very malnourished.
He was negative for leishmania but was positive for Filaria (heart worm) which he has now received treatment for, with no remaining issues.
Genil was also left with an old fracture in his femur. The pain he was in must have been intense. He has been examined thoroughly by the Trauma Specialist and there is no surgery required. He walks with a limp but he can lead a normal life.
Thank goodness Galgos en Familia saved this beautiful boy.
He loves to have fun and play, but also loves to chill on the sofa. He really enjoys his walks and has been to the local beach which he found marvellous. He has also been a hit in the local cafes! He is so people and dog friendly; great with kids too! You can take Genil pretty much anywhere – he is such a joy and gives the best cuddles.
When he sees other dogs playing, he just wants to join in the fun.
Genil is in foster in Rainham, Kent.

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering. Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering. Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you. The final step is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
