Hummus

Uk arrival date: 11/07/2026

Breed: Saluki Lab cross

Colour: White and cream, with tan ear tips

Height: TBC

Weight: 18kg

Neutered: Yes

Mediterranean disease: Clear

Health condition: Good with some intermittent tummy upsets

Character: Happy, affectionate, playful, tolerant and wonderfully goofy. Hummus loves being close to his people and is always pleased to receive affection, but is also very good at relaxing and spends much of the day snoozing. He is intelligent, highly food motivated and responds well to training. His foster family also describe his floppy sleeping positions as particularly amusing!

Likes: Other dogs and playing with them, morning walks in the park, affection, tug and plush toys, cardboard boxes, food and treats (especially chicken-based treats), Kongs, snuffle mats, licki mats and other food-based enrichment.

Dislikes: Heavy traffic, particularly large trucks and buses, and prolonged exposure to busy city environments. He can also be wary of some unfamiliar people, particularly certain men around vans or scooters and people with covered faces. He is a little unsure about being picked up.

Special talents: Being exceptionally goofy and making his foster family laugh with his floppy sleeping positions! He is also very food motivated, intelligent and easy to engage in training, and responds well when called.

Specific needs: He can become boisterous and play-bite during his evening ‘witching hour’, so appropriate play, enrichment and supervision are important. A home away from a very busy city-centre environment would suit him well. His foster family would not recommend a home with very small children because of his size and boisterousness. He enjoys other dogs enormously, although it is not yet clear whether he needs to live with one.

Cat workable: Possibly

How long they can be left for: Up to approximately 3 hours during the day. He settles fairly quickly and is happy to sleep. He also sleeps alone downstairs overnight, approximately 10pm-7am.

Current area: SE London, UK
