Jack

Dog name: Jack     Nicknames: Jacobi

Uk arrival date: 22/02/2025

Breed: Galgo

Colour: Brindle

DOB: 03/12/2018

Height: 62cm

Weight: 23kg

Neutered: Yes

Mediterranean disease: Clear

Health condition: Great!

Character: Jack’s a very loving boy who forms close bonds quickly.  He’s great around the house – he’s been clean from day one, he doesn’t steal things he shouldn’t, and he loves to snuggle up with you on the sofa, or bed! He’s really very well-behaved although he does have a cheeky side too – he’s got good counter-surfing abilities and he can use his nose to open the snack cupboard. He can get a little excited meeting new people, when his natural default is to jump up to say hello, but he’s improving all the time and he calms down quickly.  He does have some lead reactivity out on walks but he’s making progress and learning not to fixate on other dogs.
Likes: Chasing squirrels, food of any kind, playing catch with a ball or treat, snuggling up with his favourite human.
Dislikes: Unneutered male dogs. Car travel can be a worry for him.
Special talents: Nesting – he loves to burrow under a duvet at night.
Specific needs: A family who are around a lot until he feels secure. He might also like a confident playmate who can match his levels of enthusiasm! Long walks are over-whelming for Jack right now but he does enjoy short sniffy strolls around the block.
Cat workable: No
How long can they be left for: Jack apparently suffered from separation anxiety in Spain but with time and support, he has shown he can be left for short periods, up to an hour to date.
Dream home: Jack’s dream home would be one with a big garden for zoomies, ideally in an area with a low population of dogs and access to quiet walks. A confident, playful companion would be the cherry on the cake!
Current area: West Sussex, UK

Please use the form below to get in touch and ask about this adoption.

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.

Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.

Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.

Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
