Kiera

Kiera

Dog name: Keira       Nicknames: Kiki

History: Keira arrived with her sisters Pao and Pepa from a village in Sevilla. She was given by her owner because, unfortunately, she was not ‘good’ for hunting. It is an all too common situation among galgos: when they are puppies, those who seem to have the best hunting skills are chosen and the rest – like Keira – are rejected and abandoned. She was rescued by Galgos en Familia, Malaga

Uk arrival date: 29/08/25

Character: Nervous, gentle, playful, sweetheart

Likes: Zoomies, play time with friends and cuddles/scratches (when she’s ready) and of course treats! Toys and chews are also a big hit!

Dislikes: Loud noises and new situations. She struggles with children also, so adult only household needed

Special talents: Super fast zoomies and then puppy dog eyes!

Specific needs: Quieter home with another confident dog to help her settle in and hold her paw. Understanding owners who will give her the time she needs.

How long they can be left for: Left for 1 hour, with toys and chews, no issue

Dream home: Quieter home with a canine companion and understanding owners who will let her find her paws and not rush her into anything. Her confidence is growing quickly and she’s learning everyday. She is a very curious girl but sometimes her fear holds her back but she is responding well to training and living with confident dogs. Her potential is unlimited!

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.

Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.

Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.

Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
