When I saw Oli’s arrival into Fundacion Benjamin Mehnert, I was overcome with emotion.
Oli arrived emaciated, but pregnant. She wasn’t only carrying pups, but also three diseases – Anaplasma, Ehrlichia and Leishmaniasis. She was a miracle. A miracle for being alive still, a miracle for managing to survive giving birth.
I cannot tell you the flood of emotions that swept up inside me when I saw her – and when I saw her giving birth, and doing so with such love for her pups. But all too tragically, all Oli’s babies all died.
You cannot imagine how this was for her.
Oli is now receiving the best treatment with our incredible partners, and is making an amazing recovery.
She truly is a phenomenal inspiration and amazing in every sense of the word. They tell us she is one of the most sweetest souls ever.

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering. Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering. Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you. The final step is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
