Rest in Peace
You see the face of a true warrior with the best people behind him, fighting with him.
Fundación Benjamín Mehnert are doing everything in their power to help him. They do not give up and neither does Ragnar.
Ragnar was found wrapped in a plastic sheet dumped in a deep canal. He was paralysed. He arrived at the shelter in shock, unable to move his back legs, and to frightened to move his front legs. The images are impossible to forget, or forgive. Who could do such a thing? A so called human being did this to him, not just without conscience, but with intent to make sure he suffered a brutal and slow death.
Ragnar was quickly transferred to specialists for a precarious, high risk operation to stabilise his spine which had totally broken. The surgery was successful and Ragnar returned to the care of our amazing friends at FBM.
It’s hard – Ragnar doesn’t understand why he can’t move as he wishes. Imagine the frustration and confusion for him, the distress he must feel. And what a senseless and cruel injustice this is.
Now, it is time for Ragnar to recover from the surgical wounds and continue his journey of rehabilitation. He will likely need a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
When we saw Ragnar’s rescue, we were determined to find him a wonderful home here in the UK and we have done exactly that.
When Ragnar is well enough to travel, we will be here to welcome him with all our heart and devotion. What an honour!
Please stand with us, spread awareness because people still don’t believe or don’t know this happens. We need to become a strong and powerful voice.
Keep your positive thoughts coming for Ragnar and Laika too and we send strength and thanks to everyone at FBM.

Please use the form below to get in touch and ask about this adoption.

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.

Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.

Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.

Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
