Shelley

Shelley

Dog name: Shelley      Nicknames: Shells, Shell Belle

History: Shelley is returning to Project Galgo through no fault of her own, following a difficult change in her owner’s circumstances. She has known the comfort of a loving home and now needs a gentle new beginning.

Uk arrival date: 14/09/2024

Breed: Galga

Colour: Fawn and white

DOB: 18 May 2018

Height: –

Weight: 22 kg

Neutered: Yes

Mediterranean disease: Clear

Health condition: No current health issues

Character: Shelley is a laid-back, affectionate and loyal girl who enjoys being close to her person. She follows her human around the home, is friendly with visitors once familiar, and walks calmly on the lead. She is housetrained and comfortable with everyday traffic and household noises.

Likes: Human company, peaceful routines, walks, natural treats and cheese. She has lived happily with a resident cat and is good with her owner’s ten-year-old grandson.

Dislikes: Small or bouncy dogs coming too close; she prefers to move away rather than confront them. She shows little interest in toys.

Special talents: Walking beautifully on the lead, asking to go outside, and being a devoted companion.

Specific needs: A calm, understanding home where Shelley can settle at her own pace after leaving familiar surroundings. She could potentially live with another calm, respectful dog; boisterous dogs may overwhelm her. She can be a little restless at the start of car journeys but settles.

Cat workable: Yes — living peacefully with a resident cat. Introductions to any new cat should still be managed carefully.

How long they can be left for: Up to 3 hours in her familiar home, with a reassuring routine; this may need rebuilding in a new home.

Current area: Vale of Glamorgan

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.

Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.

Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.

Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
