Here is Speedy, a gorgeous 5 year old male Galgo who was thankfully saved by our great friends Galgos en Familia.
They received the notice of an animal in a complicated situation, the shelter he was in after being rescued, was closing imminently and they needed someone to take care of him. They could not turn him away. He is now in the UK stealing hearts!
“Speedy… more like sweetie! Speedy has so much love to give, asking for nothing but the occasional ear scritch or gentle pat in return.
He’s a dream when out for walks, making sure to check in with his walker and with no observed prey drive. He does get a bit nervous around unknown dogs (though he takes well to other sighthounds), and may hide or shake if approached, but doesn’t lunge or snap. He has done really well since settling into his new environment without any accidents for a few weeks.
Above all else, he loves a snuggle in cozy spots like sofas and beds, and is happy jumping into bed at night with his foster fam. He has really come into his own as a city pup – the buses and pedestrians that once caused him panic are now just background noises. He seems to enjoy a semblance of structure and routine. He is a bit of a loving shadow who will follow his human from room to room, just to say hi. He can be initially nervous around male strangers but does warm up; around women he is often sweet straight off the bat. He is quiet and nearly never barks or whines unless he definitely needs your immediate attention.
He doesn’t counter-surf, but he does love his kibble. This loyal and handsome chap willingly shares lap space and even food at times with a pesky little pup, so would be alright in a home with another dog.”

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.

Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.

Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
