Lu

Dog name: Lu     Nicknames: Lulu

History: A Galguero hand into Carlotta Galgos, Malaga

Uk arrival date: 14/02/2026

Breed: Galga

Colour: Brindle

DOB: 30/07/2018

Height: 24″ to the shoulder

Weight: 19.5kg

Neutered: Yes

Mediterranean disease: Clear

Health condition: Good!

Character: She is cheeky and endearingly quirky! Initially she followed her foster mum around everywhere, but this has improved although she still wants to be in the same room as the humans of the house. She likes to sit ON you, or at least with lots of contact and has no concept of personal space! This is both with humans and other doggos – if she wants to sit somewhere she doesn’t care who or what is in her way. Luckily, she does respond to being told “no” and can be redirected to another bed, blanket or sofa.

Initially she would cry whenever the status changed, for example moving from her foster family being in the kitchen to relaxing in the lounge, or when it was bedtime. This has now stopped, and now she just seems to accept the move, and finds the new “most comfy spot” in the new room.

Likes: Being ON the human, and being IN the room with you. She is a cuddly girl and is pretty generous with her paw-of-more. For some unknown reason she like to relax with her bum above her head, including in the downward dog pose which she frequently deploys in rooms with no sofas. She enjoys playing with other doggos, and is mischievous with it too – liking to wind them up into a reaction or a chase and vice-versa

Dislikes: Being turfed out of her bed in the morning to go for a wee – she is all about the lie-
ins. She is more wary of humans outside and at night if there isn’t a lot of light. Doesn’t like
cold or rain, but I can’t blame her for that!

Special talents: “Helping” with crochet, being unselective about which bed she sleeps in at night time, sleeping through the night without needed a wee break.

Specific needs: A family who will embrace her cheeky and quirky character, with patience as she settles and adjusts to a new family routine. The same would be needed from any 4 legged brothers or sisters

Cat workable: Not tested

How long they can be left for: Has been left up to 4 hours without issue, but is with other dogs for company

Current area: Wem, Shropshire

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.

Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.

Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.

Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
