Lula

Lula

Dog name: Lula       Nicknames:

History: Lula was rescued from a perrera by Galgos del Sur, in Cordoba on 24/07/2026

UK arrival date: 24/10/2026

Breed: Galga

Colour: Brown

DOB: 25/11/2021

Height: 62cm

Weight: 20kg

Neutered: Yes

Mediterranean disease: Treated for Anaplasmosis, clear otherwise

Health condition: Good

Character: A very calm, gentle and quietly sociable girl. Lula arrived extremely frightened and shut down, but she is already beginning to trust, coming to greet her fosterer and asking for gentle strokes. She needs a little time to feel safe, but is making lovely progress.

Likes: Her comfy sofa and safe spaces, gentle affection, watching the birds, walks, car journeys and being around other dogs. She is even beginning to show a playful side with one of her foster siblings.

Dislikes: Sudden noises and movements, unfamiliar men, delivery people, the TV and fast-moving or noisy traffic. Her confidence with these things is gradually developing.

Special talents: Walking beautifully on the lead, learning quickly and making a little “peep” when she wants something! She is also completely clean in the house and loves travelling in the car.

Specific needs: A calm, peaceful and patient home that will allow Lula to build her confidence at her own pace. She takes reassurance from other calm dogs, so a settled resident dog could be beneficial. She has been good with her fosterer’s dog-savvy grandson.

Cat workable: Yes

How long they can be left for: Under assessment. Lula is comfortable settling independently within the home and her fosterer feels she could manage short periods with another settled dog for company, but this has not yet been fully tested.

Current area: Dorset, UK

Please use the form below to get in touch and ask about this adoption.

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.

Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.

Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.

Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
