Health condition: No known health conditions. Sabia is currently very overweight and needs to lose approximately 8 kg.
Character: Sabia is a gentle, friendly and sociable girl with a wonderfully goofy personality. She settled well into her foster home and enjoys approaching people for a stroke and some affection. She is interested in what is happening around her but is also able to relax, happily moving between different beds for a snooze. Sabia gets along well with the resident dogs and enjoys interacting with them. She has shown no guarding, destructive or reactive behaviour. She is clean in the house, although she may do a little counter-surfing. Out on walks, Sabia is good on the lead and has been comfortable walking through fields, allotments, the town park and along streets with passing cars and motorbikes. She greeted a Labrador without any problems and calmly watches smaller dogs. No prey drive has been observed so far. She has also travelled calmly on a short car journey. Sabia gets into the back seat willingly and prefers to stand while travelling.
Likes: Human company, affection, socialising with other dogs, exploring the garden, gentle walks and plenty of sleep.
Dislikes: Sabia is not keen on the vacuum cleaner, but she simply gets up and moves away from it.
Special talents: Making people smile
Specific needs: Sabia needs a carefully managed weight-loss programme, including an appropriate diet and gradually increased exercise, to help her lose approximately 8 kg and reach a healthier weight. Her new family should also be mindful of her occasional countersurfing.
Cat workable: Not tested
How long they can be left for: Sabia has been left for 2 hours with the resident dogs and showed no signs of distress or destructive behaviour.
Current area: Carmarthenshire, Wales

Adopting or fostering a dog is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but it’s also a lot of work, and it’s a big decision. Below are the 3 steps involved in the process of either adoption or fostering.
Step 1 is to learn what’s involved; about Project Galgo, about adoption and about fostering.
Step 2 is to contact us for more information and we’ll discuss everything with you.
Step 3 (the final step) is to fill out either the adoption or fostering forms and officially start the process. These forms are in depth, and may take you some time to fill out. It is recommended you do this on a laptop or desktop computer. It is required that you fill out every field, the forms will not submit if questions are skipped.
